The Stratton Scrapbook : Fall 2022 Highlights

With Matthew arriving in October (10/03/22) I quickly fell behind on blogging. Here are some sweet memories from the Fall of 2022: bringing Matthew home, Halloween, the family meeting Matthew, Thanksgiving, Jessie & Henry's wedding and more.

Matthew in the hospital. In this picture he is one day old. He was such a sleepy baby. Later we would realize it was most likely because of his high bilirubin but those first two days in the hospital he slept nonstop. At first Rob and I didn't know what to do with ourselves but we quickly realized... oh wait, we should sleep too, so we caught up on as much sleep as we could. The last time I took a nap was in the hospital with my sweet newborn Matthew.

This is our first photo as a family of four. My parents stayed with Robert while we were at the hospital with Matthew. I really missed Robert while we were away and as soon as we got home he already seemed so much older. Everyone said this would happen... it was definitely bittersweet. He will always be my first baby.

Robert was so dear when we brought Matthew home. He went right over to look at him in his car seat and wanted to hold him. Rob and I mentioned that getting home after dinner this time around versus getting home around lunch time with Robert was definitely harder. We were exhausted but so very grateful/happy to be home.

I conquered my first outing with both boys. We went to Holly Fork Farm. I could not have done it without Auntie Ashleigh. She drove from Richmond to meet us there and truly helped in everyway. Mostly she chased after Robert while I was able to attend to Matthew. She got her steps in, that's for sure.

Matthew's First Halloween! Robert was a firefighter. He loved the candy- no surprise! His favorite this time ended up being KitKat bars. We managed to walk the neighborhood with our friends Alison, Shawn and their two sweet girls E & O.
