I had a wonderful 33rd birthday! It was a day filled with lots of family and friends, which was perfect.
I got to start the day by enjoying delcious cinnamon buns with my boys! A family tradition I have done ever since I can remember.
Robert very much enjoyed "reading" (eating) my cards.
My sister-in-law Katie watched Robert for a few hours in the morning, so I could have some "me" time. It was such a thoughtful gift and really meant a lot! I went to Starbucks and got my birthday coffee and then roamed around Target enjoying simply being able to browse through all the sections without feeling rushed on a "schedule". Robert loved his time with Auntie Katie and his cousins Ben and Rosie too, so it was a win-win for all!
(Not technically for my birthday) but amazing nonetheless.... my best friends from grad school, Molly, Jordan and their son, Foster came into town for the weekend to celebrate W&M Homecoming. It was really sweet & special to see our boys together! We went to the playground and enjoyed going to the W&M football game on Saturday. Robert was a trooper at the game. He wasn't quire sure what to make of the loud cheering.
Sunday we had ice cream cake and family over to our house for a causal birthday celebration including hot dogs, football, and lots of happy kids running around - Eleanor, Jane, Ben, Rosie, Charlie, Tripp, Ben & baby Robert. It was so neat to see the kids from both sides of the family all play together. It literally was exactly what I wanted... family time & fun!
This year, in particular I was overwhelmed with gratitude for my many, many blessings. It's hard to put into words how very thankful I am for my family, but wow... God is good. Looking forward to my year 33!
